My name is Andrea Jarich.
I was born almost 21 years ago on March 15, 1993. I live in Burlington, WI. I
share the house with my mom, my dad, my sister, three dogs, five little puppies,
two cats, and a turtle. The house can get pretty crowded at times, but I don’t
mind it at all. My family and pets can be funny and entertaining at times. When
I’m not doing homework, I like to make purses, read graphic novels, draw, watch
videos on the internet, exercise at the gym, and play video games. I just like
working with my hands and doing physical activity.
I have Autism.
Besides Autism, I also have an anxiety disorder. I was diagnosed with
low-functioning Autism at the age of 3. With the help of therapy, I’m now higher
functioning than when I was originally diagnosed. I was diagnosed with an anxiety
disorder at the age of 19. I’m going to therapy for my anxiety disorder. Therapy
has been helping me with my anxiety, but I still have to work hard to help
overcome it. Overall, living with Autism and anxiety can be hard at time, but I’ve
learned to deal with them. I wouldn’t cure myself from Autism ( maybe anxiety, though ) for all the money in the world.
Right now I
am a student at Gateway Technical College. My mother is going there as well. I
am going for my IT Web Developer/Administrator degree and my Graphic
Communications degree. If possible, I would like to go to UW-Whitewater and get
my Bachelor’s Degree in IT and Spanish. I at least want to get an advanced
technical degree at Gateway. With one of those degrees, I hope to get a Web
Developer job or Graphic Design job or something similar that will enable to
support myself without having to work crazy long shifts. I don’t want to have
work somewhere like a fast-food place where I’m constantly on my feet doing
hard work for barely the minimum wage ( though I would
do that if I had no choice ).
